Kelowna Hot Tub Chemicals

The Purpose of Kelowna Hot Tub Chemicals   Certain chemicals are required to maintain the proper levels of total alkalinity, calcium hardness, and pH.   Other chemicals are required to control the growth of bacteria, viruses, algae and other unwanted organisms in the hot tub.   Keeping this balance just right is an effort, but it will pay off by reducing the build up of scale, or possible metal corrosion, and hence unnecessary and costly maintenance.   Your hot tub will last longer, and all operating parts will work more efficiently.   In order to know the quantity and frequency of chemical applications, your dealer will provide you with the required procedures for testing for total alkalinity, calcium hardness, sanitizer, and pH. There are two ways to check your water for the correct balance:   Reagent liquid test kits.   This method of testing provides the most accurate test results, although it is more time consuming.     Test Strips.   The use of test strips is the easiest and most convenient method that most hot tub owners use for these tests.     Proper storage of test strips will result in accurate readings.   Safety first when using Kelowna Hot Tub Chemicals   Make sure to follow these important guidelines when using hot tub chemicals:   Read and follow all directions very carefully.   Keep all chemicals out of the reach of children.   NEVER mix concentrated chemicals together.   Rinse containers thoroughly before disposal.   Use only the specified amounts of chemicals indicated by your water test results.   Remember to close chemical containers tightly when not in use, and to store all chemicals in a cool, dry, well-ventilated storage area that is used solely for chemicals.   Do not allow chemicals to be exposed to eyes, nose, or mouth, and DO NOT inhale the dangerous fumes.   Protect your skin by wearing rubber gloves, a safety mask, and always wash hands carefully after using chemicals   In case of accidental contact, follow the emergency directions on the label   DO NOT SMOKE around chemicals as the fumes are highly flammable              Kelowna Hot Tub Chemicals that are commonly used   Special filtration and products designed for mineral removal.     Chemicals that produce a “perfect balance” or “adjust down” to its correct levels, based on   total Alkalinity Balance test results   Chemicals designed to “adjust up” or “adjust down” the levels to what is recommended by your hot tub manufacturer, based on the results of the pH levels in your water    Chlorine and Bromine sanitizers to kill algae, viruses, bacteria, and prevent unwanted organisms from growing in your hot tub   Other products to boost the efficiency of the chemicals recommended by your hot tub company.   Your dealer will have specific directions and guidelines for you to follow in maintaining your hot tub at peak performance.     VERY IMPORTANT.    Read and understand the information in your owner’s manual before attempting to use chemicals in your water.   Your hot tub’s performance is affected by many interacting conditions, and it is important to understand them all so that you can be knowledgeable in the care and treatment you give it.   By doing so, you will ensure a lifetime of virtually maintenance free enjoyment of your hot tub.     Unfortunately, some people do not take the time to understand hot tub maintenance by doing regular testing and adding chemicals accordingly, thus incurring costly repair bills when a hot tub malfunction occurs.   It would be far better to take the time to understand the process of maintenance and thereby eliminate the cost of repair in the first place!    You can find more information on Kelowna hot tub chemicals at Kelowna Arctic Spas at this website:  http://www. okanaganarctic. com/index. php?option=com_rokdownloads&view=file&Itemid=100088&id=6:ownersmanual_2007_na_english
