Can You Have A Jacuzzi Birth With And Epidural?
Just weighing my options. Did you or are you planning a jacuzzi birth? It looks more relaxing than laying on your back push against gravity.

Sorry, but they don’t let you do that. If you have a water birth, they are natural. No pain meds.
No…when you have an epidural, you are pretty much numb from the waist down. You are not allowed to get out of the bed. You are hooked up to a small catheter in your back (administers medication) and you have another one in your bladder to go to the restroom (until you push). I also had an IV, blood pressure monitor, and an internal and external monitor for the baby and contractions. I don’t think there would be anyway to sit in a jacuzzi tub. The water births are meant to be in place of medication as water is said to be a natural pain reliever and relaxer!
yes water is relaxing during labor – and squatting or being upright truly helps the pushing stage!!!! dont’ lie on your back during labor or pushing! it’s crazy and goes completely against nature!
Noo only regular water birth is fine.
if you have a water birth the only pain releif they allow you is gas and air, epidurals and olther are not suitable for water!
I highly doubt it. When you have an epidural in, you are connected both to the epidural drip and an IV, and probably a fetal monitor and/or blood pressure cuff, none of which you can stay connected to while you’re in a tub of water.
i had an epidural and they don’t even let you have a proper bath after the birth with an epidural. its a liability and it’s not sfe. By the time you’ve had an epidural if it works becuse it only worked for my an hour b4 she was born. and i still had a pain on my left side.(which is apparently worse) you won’t be able to move out of your bed. i wish i had or tried for a natural bith harder but i couldn’t so i had everything drug wise available. try to avoid pethadin if you want to remember it and not talk rubbish. and the gas and air .get that from the begining and you might be able to have a bath, good luck it’s the best experience you’ll ever have so try not to miss it in a panic x
I am pretty positive it is one or the other but I have no idea why
That defeats the purpose.
No, if you have an epidural you can’t leave the bed. Your lower body will be completely numb! You aren’t even able to get up to use the restroom, you would have a catheter instead.
Jacuzzi births are typically for women who are looking for an alternative pain relief method.
