How Do You Mix Chemicals For A Hot Tub???

We recently just moved into an apartment that has a hot tub on the patio. However, we are not use to having a hot tub. We want to use it, but we have no book or anything showing us how to mix the chemicals we have. We have all the proper chemicals now we need to know how much of each to mix in so we dont ruin it. if anyone has any helpful tips please let us know as we are desperate!!!!

I just recently moved into a house with a pool and I had the same exact problem. I had all the chemicals and the pool was there and (it was summer) I wanted to use it. I ended up calling the local pool installing company in my area (they were also a pool supply store). They had people that would come out to your pool and set it up for you and explain to you how to use them chemicals and testing kits. You may want to call someone so they can come out and make sure the hot tub is working correctly and also they will let you know how to care for it.

I suggest you purchase an inexpensive pool testing kit and some dry chemicals and simply follow the instructions. It’s not very hard at all.
You should be aware of two things with hot tubs in particular. Warm water needs more bacteria killing agents than cold water pools and don’t store all your chemicals in the same place. The chemicals may react when mixed causing dangerous results.

Simply take a sample of water in one of the containers you should have included in all those supplies to a hot tub dealer and ask for first, analysis/education on how to test for Ph, then the application procedures and amounts to get it right. Most tubs are pretty simple to maintain, unless people are using them in lieu of bathtubs. You take the sample in so you get it right the first time, as they will know your starting point. An ahead phone call always helps so they will expect you. They will want your future chemical and possibly repair or maintenance business.
